MAKE IT WORK. YOU ALREADY HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED.
All children go through a fickle stage. One week they want to eat bananas for every meal, and the next, they shriek when you mention anything about bananas. My two little ones are no exception, but I’ve learned to build my meals around their usual preferences. This Mommy has a kitchen motto: When all else fails, cook a casserole. As long as there’s chicken in the freezer and rice in the pantry, I have the basics to get started. Usually, if I take the time to dig deeper in the fridge, or move items around in the cabinets, I find everything I need to cook a satisfying meal. The same is true in life. Financial needs can be settled by shifting things around in the budget. A dream can be realized by digging deeper for a boost of confidence and discipline. Do what you need to do to make it work! You already have everything within you. We all do.
I’ll never be a perfect mother, but I’ll strive to do what I tell my children: Be your best you.
Has my life been reduced because I sat in the bathroom with my daughter counting her packages? No. In fact, my children have enlarged my life more than I could ever imagine. They’ve expanded my imagination, grown my patience, and enlarged the dreams for our family. My son and daughter have shown me that life can be peaceful . . . especially when they’re sound asleep.
