Chapter 16

Three days had gone by and Faith had continued to watch the actions of her neighbor across the street. She would watch the girl come home, leave, or get picked up by various people. She had certain times down as she figured the girl was still in high school due to the types of people she saw stopping by the house. All looked to be kids between 16 and 18 years old. Faith was confused on why she had never seen what looked like a parental figure or older adult around. The girl cannot possibly live on her own, she thought to herself, then again it was possible. The obsession with the girl had started to consume her. For the first time in a long time she tried to suppress the feeling. She knew inside that as much as she wanted to embrace the feeling and it could not have come a worse time. She had heard nothing new in what was going on in Henderson except that there was still a police presence there investigating. That enough made her nervous, now she was trying not to commit a murder during an ongoing murder investigation that was happening because of her. The thought of all this made Faith nauseous, and she had little to know appetite since she first heard about the events in Henderson. Still despite everything going on around her she still found herself doing her usual routine when it came to answering the feeling’s call. Faith would stalk and spy on her future victim, getting to know there daily routine. It made the meeting phase so much easier. By the third day Faith wanted speak to the girl so bad however in her mind she knew that would be a mistake. But the feeling inside of her was merciless and despite her will she continued to fulfill her routine. She could not fight it any longer and before Faith knew it she was across the street making her way up the driveway. It was as if all control of her mind and body was now driven by the feeling. She knew that like the many times in the past fighting it was hopeless for she always loss. Faith stood at the front door and with a trembling hand press the doorbell button.

A somewhat older woman open the door however, she looked too young to be the girl’s mother. Faith eyed the woman for a moment than introduce herself. “Hello, my name is Faith, I live across the street from you.” The woman seem not too interested and somewhat confused on why Faith was at their door. She notice that the woman eyes were red and glassy and she reeked of cigarettes and alcohol. “I told Alan to let people know I am dry so fuck off!” The woman shouted and was about to slam the door in her face but she blocked the door with her hand. “Excuse me, I don’t know who Alan is and what you’re talking about I jus…” “You not here to buy?” The woman screamed back.
