The cave worm tried to sink its fangs into me.

(I know worms usually don’t have fangs. But sharks don’t usually live in caves either. This labyrinth was full of surprises.)

I quickly tossed the worm aside. The moment Rover saw it, he shot out his tongue, snapped up the worm, and gulped it down.

“That wasn’t an answer,” Belinda said, sounding a tiny bit suspicious. “Do you agree with me or not?”

Once again I didn’t answer her. But this time it wasn’t because I was trying to avoid answering the question. Well, okay, it was partly because I didn’t want to answer the question. But mostly it was because I had just had an idea.

“I think I know how to get across the chasm,” I said.
