On Friday, the police returned their laptops. Honey eagerly logged into her work email to see what she'd missed. It was much of the usual, links to small appliance sales and recipe blogs she followed, but there was also an email from Bets.

Honey's hand hovered over the mouse. Rosie believed the party went well, but what if Bets was only trying to encourage Angela? What if she hadn't wanted to hurt the girl's feelings? The cooking class might have been a disaster. She opened the message and bit her lower lip.

Dear Honey,

I can't tell you how much we all enjoyed your protegé, Angela. Although we were disappointed not to have you, and certainly hope you're feeling better, we were delighted with her. You have trained her well.

Two of the women who attended would like to have parties of their own, and it was all I could do to convince them that they should leave it up to you which one of you does the instructing. They were that smitten by Angela. I've added their email addresses below.
