“So you’re giving me the painting even though you technically won the bet?” Sebastian asked over his eggs benedict.

Lex flinch at the mention of the immature game they’d played. “I lost because I called it off. It was stupid and we were assholes.”

“You’ve always been an asshole, Lex. But Jamie must really be special if she made you realize that.”

Once upon a time, Lex would have had a witty retort on the tip of his tongue but held back. He sighed. “I suppose you’re right. But I’m going to have to tell her about the bet.”

“Why does she have to know?” Sebastian shrugged.

“Because it doesn’t feel right knowing how the relationship started. Jamie is so sweet and pure. It would break her heart if she found out from anyone else.”

“The only other people who know about this is me and Gray and you know neither of us will say a word.”

“I know. Even if I tell her, it would hurt her, but at least we’d have a chance.”

“If you say so man. Shit, I almost feel guilty for taking that painting but a bet is a bet.” Sebastian chuckled.

Lex grinned. “Asshole.” Though he dreaded telling Jamie, he knew it would have to be done sooner or later.
