Run all steps of the plan past your core team members before asking approval. The final fine-tuning of the project plan is no exception. After all, if you missed something, they might be able to fill in the gaps. If you’ve asked the impossible of a team member, you’ll have an opportunity to hear about it before the work starts.

Follow these steps for cross-checking a project plan:1. From the network diagram, match the activities, durations, and dates to the scheduling worksheet.

2. From the network diagram, match the resources to the scheduling worksheet.

3. From the network diagram, match the activity to those shown in the WBS.

4. Verify the numbers on the budgeting worksheet, and re-total them to make sure they match your existing estimate.

5. Study the activities on the critical path. Is the right path selected? Do any activities require more time? Have you separated the labor required from the duration on each activity?

6. Verify that the milestones (if you chose any) make sense as a means of summarizing the main activities in a project.

7. Check to see if the start and finish dates are still reasonable. Also verify that you have accounted for all holidays and vacations in the schedule.
