I start, and, blinking away sleep, sit up. I rub my eyes and then shake my head as I try to bring myself back to reality.

That has to have been the most vivid, ridiculous…most wonderful dream I’ve ever had… But I probably shouldn’t have drank so much lychee liquor earlier.

I reach for my phone to check the time.

12:00.

Great, Merry freaking Christmas to me.

I guess I should go to bed before I become any more delirious than I already am… celebrating the holiday alone tomorrow is going to be hard enough. I get up off the couch and stumble my way through the barely-lit room toward the hallway only to hear a knock at my door. I freeze and then slowly spin around to walk over and peer through the peephole.

There, standing just outside my door, smiling back at me through the fish-eye glass, are Adam, Santa, and Satan.

Maybe…just maybe, Christmas wishes do come true.
