Shaggy falls to his knees and holds his head in his hands. “I promise to use my monster powers for good!” he declares as tears gush from his eyes.

PLOP! PLOP! Suddenly two big blobs of muddy grass fall from Shaggy’s face. His tears have loosened the dirt. He can see again!

Shaggy looks down and realizes that he isn’t a monster after all — he’s just covered in mud! He starts to jump for joy when he sees a robot clown.

“Zoinks!” Shaggy gulps.

Shaggy starts to flee, but the robot extends a metal hand and grabs him by the shirt. Shaggy’s legs pinwheel as he runs in place, throwing off the mud clinging to his limbs. It covers the bad robot’s face. Now the mechanical monster is the one who can’t see. But it still doesn’t let go of Shaggy.

“I’m doomed!” Shaggy moans.

“Scooby-Dooby Doooooo!” Scooby declares as he soars through the air while clinging to the neck of the octopus.

“That’s something you don’t see every day!” Shaggy exclaims.

Scooby and the octopus land on top of the robot clown. The octopus wraps a tentacle around Shaggy and pulls him from the robot’s grip. Scooby gives Shaggy a paw and the pair huddle together on top of the octopus.

“Thanks, pal,” Shaggy says.

“Son! Are you all right?” Shaggy’s dad shouts from below.

“Sure, thanks to our new friend here!” Shaggy replies. He pats the octopus on the head.

“Well, then get down here and let’s close this case!” Mr. Rogers says.

The octopus stretches out one of its tentacles, and Shaggy and Scooby slide down it. The other tentacles wrap around the robot clown and hold it until the rest of Mystery Inc. arrives with the police.

“You meddling kids! You’ve wrecked my perfect plan!” the robot says with a human voice.

“Rat’s no robot,” Scooby realizes.

“Somebody’s inside!” Shaggy declares. “Let’s take off that helmet and see who’s behind all this.”

The octopus uses its free tentacle to unscrew the head of the robot clown. The face of a man scowls at them.

“Bart Snarx!” Shaggy’s dad exclaims. “I thought you were still in prison.”

“You know this guy?” Shaggy asks.

“I arrested him back when I was a cop,” Mr. Rogers replies.
