“Not mine,” Jaspyr replied simply with a heavy sigh that masked the pride and approval he felt at how Baxter sought to protect Avyla against the man who had recently caused her so much fright. “But, he’s growing on me,” he added with the smallest of smirks.

“Jaspyr?” Jocelyn called.

“It’s alright, mother,” Jaspyr called back over his shoulder before pulling his tunic over his head and tossing it aside moments before a large pair of periwinkle wings emerged from his back. “Take Avyla with you and go have some breakfast. I will join you as soon as I have concluded my business.” He glanced down at Baxter who had not relented in his behavior. He sighed. “Avyla, if it isn’t too much trouble, please take your ankle-biter with you.”
