Close this section with effleurage on the dorsal surface of the foot. The effleurages create a soothing effect after the dynamic techniques that were applied previously, and conclude with the best way this first part of the session.

SECTION TWO

WORKING WITH THE WOODEN STICK

In this section, you are going to work with a special wooden tool (a stick). This stick allows you to perform dynamic techniques without straining your hands.

If you do not have this wooden tool, you can perform the following techniques with a special technique called “caterpillar walk” (see page 72), which is applied mainly with the thumb. However, on the long term the caterpillar walk will put strain on your thumbs, and thus is not recommended.
