Chapter Six

“Peyton”—Ian shifted his hard-on, but his jeans remained uncomfortably tight against his stiff cock—“your needs are mine. I wish I could show you in the flesh right this very minute. I can’t wait until the day I actually look into your eyes and officially claim every curvy inch of you.”

Peyton’s soft moan made his dick twitch. He didn’t think he could get any harder, but her words…

Damn.

The way she’d expressed exactly how much she needed him had struck a chord within him he hadn’t known existed.

“What do you mean by that?” Peyton asked and he could hear the anxiousness and excitement in her voice.

“When you are ready…we will meet.”

Peyton’s sweet laugh made him grin.

“You live in the Windy City?”

“I do,” Ian said.

“Oh.”

Ian listened to Peyton’s breathing and knew she was imagining the two of them meeting face to face now too.

“Well, that’s against Talk Sexy policy. I could get fired. I couldn’t possibly meet you.”

Ian smiled against his phone, amused by her nervous banter. He considered for a nanosecond telling her he’d implemented the damn policy and her job would never be an issue, but this wasn’t the moment he wanted to reveal his true identity.

“Besides, I’m in a relationship,” Peyton continued.

“Do you always follow the rules?” Ian asked, walking into his kitchen.

“Usually. Rules are put in place to keep one safe.”

“So, you are concerned about your safety?”

Peyton sighed. “Shouldn’t I be? You could be an ax murder for all I know.”

Ian laughed as he opened his cabinet and took out a snifter. “I’m not an ax murder, I assure you.”

“Well, I have absolutely no idea who you are. I don’t even have a vague description of what you look like.”

“I’m six foot four…about one hundred and ninety-five pounds. I like to work out.” Ian reached for the bottle of brandy on the island, opened it then poured some into his glass. “I’ve got dark brown hair and green eyes. I’ve been called a hottie more than once.”

Ian smiled when Peyton giggled. She had the sexiest laugh he’d ever heard.

“You left out the detail most men share first.”

“And what detail would that be?” Ian asked, swallowing his sip of brandy. Then he knew. He chuckled as he set his glass down. “Ah. How unthoughtful of me. I’ve got a nice, thick—”

“Stop!”

“What? Curious to know just how many inches?”

“No. It’s irrelevant, besides, I think most men on the line stretch the truth in their favor.”

“First, you accuse me of being a possible killer. Now, you think I’d lie about my cock size? Wow.”

“I didn’t say you’d lie.”

He found the exasperation in her tone adorable as he grinned. “I’m just giving you a hard time. I love reading sci-fi thrillers. I enjoy seafood and pasta. I prefer intimate dinner parties over a big crowd. Peach cobbler is my favorite dessert—”

“Mine too!”

“See, just one more thing we have in common.”

Peyton laughed. “Actually, I like all the things you mentioned, except I like reading paranormal romances over sci-fi thrillers.”

“Is your favorite color blue?”

“Pink.”

“Of course it is,” Michael said, swirling the contents of his glass.
