Christy, Aviana, Katie, and Bekah left to find her. Julia stayed behind to talk to David. She shut the door then said, “You really don’t know anything, right?”

“Oh come on, you were in here with me. You don’t believe me?”

“I know, I know, it’s just the sock…”

“That could’ve been anybody’s. I don’t know. I really don’t.”

“It would be funny if this whole time she’s just taking a hot shower.”

“And you haven’t seen her either?”

“As far as I know, none of us have seen her since the argument last night.”

“There was an argument?”

“Eh, kinda sorta. Just Bekah and Mary at each other’s throats again. You should’ve seen them in the car ride—Mary had enough trouble fitting in with us, and Bekah kept egging her on. Then Mary let her have it good, Bekah can dish it but can’t take it—well, let me explain. Mary said something about Bekah killing herself, then before bed, Bekah told me her sister actually did kill herself, so I don’t know, I feel bad for her, but she was pretty rude to Mary…”

“Oh geez.”

“You can’t tell anyone that, by the way. Bekah told me her sister slit her wrists. She laid that on me in the middle of the night before I ran into you. I had no clue what to say to something that personal.”

“Heh, you didn’t run into me, we both know you had me on your mind all day. You came here on purpose.”

“Maybe I did.” She kissed him. “Maybe I’ll wander back here again tonight if I don’t get lost.”

“You’re not used to the halls yet?”

“Not quite.”

“I knew we should’ve written up little maps before you all came here.”

“I just hope Mary doesn’t ruin the whole weekend. Yesterday was lame and today is already starting off awful.”

“Eh, she’ll come out of her hiding spot eventually. Mary can’t hide forever.”
