Chapter thirteen

Trill

I had been out of the hospital for two weeks and it felt good. I started the transition to change my club into a gentlemen’s lounge and to say Rayna was pissed would be an understatement. I understood her concerns about her man being around all that ass, but I couldn’t let her insecurities fuck with a business opportunity like that. I was trying to get out of the drug game, especially since Jewels and I were having a baby together.

I needed to think for her and our baby, not about how Rayna was feeling. I had a feeling that Jewels wanted to ask me to leave the club as it was, but since it was her idea and she saw how excited I was about it, she just kept her mouth shut. Besides, I think the only reason she didn’t want me to open the club was because Rayna was pressuring her to talk me out of it. Jewels knew that I wasn’t leaving her for anyone. I had made that very clear to her. She had no reason to trip whatsoever.

“Babe, you seen my black Rolex?” I asked.

“It’s in the closet on my jewelry chest,” she said.

“What’s it doing there?”

“I’on know. You’re the one who had it on last. I don’t wear it,” she said.

I walked up behind her and kissed her neck, “You getting smart with me?” I asked with my hand on her stomach. She had a lil’ pouch that was starting to take shape. The doctor informed us that she was twelve weeks when we had that visit. I was shocked that she was that far along; right then, she was right at fourteen weeks. I think Rayna was six months along. Damn. It must have been something in the water when those two got pregnant.

“Not at all, baby. Hey babe, I was thinking that I might wanna go with you interview these dancers for the club. Would you have a problem with that?” she asked, turning around to face me.

“Not at all baby. Savino and Cordell were going to meet me there though so they could help me out,” I said.

“Savino?” she asked pulling back from my arms to look me in the eyes. “Rayna know about this?”

“I have no idea what Savino tells his wife, so please do me a favor and stay out of it. What they got going on is their business, not ours.”

“But she’s my best friend and you know she will be pissed off with me if I don’t say something,” she whined.

“Jewels, c’mon babe. Just stay out of it. Maybe she already knows,” I spoke trying to downplay the subject.

“Okay, I won’t say anything.”

“Good, now get dressed if you’re coming,” I told her while smacking her ass.

She rushed off to get dressed as I went in search of my watch. I found it right where she said it was. I finished getting dressed in my all black attire and walked out to find my baby looking good as fuck.
