Ramzi turned and faced Inspector Karim. They shook hands.

‘Is this business or pleasure inspector?’

‘Pleasure. You look surprised? Perhaps, Monsieur Ramzi, you think that policemen can’t appreciate art?’

‘Not at all. Crime is a form of art, isn’t it?’

Inspector Karim smiled. ‘It often is, but not as yet in the case of Paul Gallisot.’

‘So, you have still to solve it?’

‘I suppose there’s no harm in telling you what we know. After all, the victim was a guest at your riad. To date, our enquiries show that Paul picked up a teenage Moroccan boy in Guéliz, on Avenue Mohamed V to be exact. Traces of body fluids were found on Paul during the autopsy, and other corroborating evidence.’

‘Paul had sex with the boy?’

‘That’s what we suspect.’
