Help us Change the World

“I always thought that when I grow up I want to have an impact in the world. I want to make a difference. I want to do something. But I’ve already begun to make a difference–I think mainly because I haven’t grown up.”

“Whew! I had no idea a benefit would be this much work,” Morgan said to Vanessa and Tove as they biked to the planetarium. The girls had been busy leading up to the big night—putting up posters, inviting people, printing pamphlets and programs, recruiting volunteers to bake goodies, and of course, making more ECO geckos.

“So much for a relaxing March Break,” Vanessa sighed. “At least we were able to practice our speeches.”

“Holy, cow! It’s packed,” Severn gasped, as she handed out programs to people streaming to their seats. She noticed that the audience was mostly adults, not the students and teachers she was used to. Severn fidgeted with her bracelets until the lights dimmed. Then Vanessa began to speak.
