“I think I want another one,” I told Ezra as I took the last sip of the hot chocolate.

“You sure?” he asked, already pulling out his wallet.

I gave him a quick nod, then grabbed the card we shared.

We decided on sharing a bank account, so there won’t be any problems when it came to paying the rent or buying the food.

We each put money on there each month, and anything else we wanted, we bought with our own cards.

It was easy, and we never had any arguments about money.

“I’ll take it on the go. We can walk toward the carousel,” I suggested.

“I’ll wait outside. It’s getting crowded in here,” he told me with a smile, and I nodded before he headed outside.

I walked over to the counter and stood in line, waiting for everyone else to get their beverage.

Surprisingly, there were more people on the island than I had anticipated.

I guess word got around that it’s a pretty amazing place to hang out.

I didn’t mind, since I wouldn’t come here alone to think anymore.

I had Ezra.

“Hi, what can I get you?” the barista asked as it was my turn. “Another hot chocolate?” he asked, grinning.

“Yes, please,” I chuckled, setting the reusable cup down to not waste anything.

Guess I did learn something from Mom being so environmentally friendly.

I paid, then stepped aside to wait on the hot chocolate, and while I stood there, I looked outside to see Ezra holding his phone to his ear.

Tilting my head, I observed him as he talked and smiled, and once I got my hot chocolate, I headed outside to meet him.

“That sounds great. I’ll let you know. Okay, have a nice day.”

His last words were rushed as he saw me walking toward him, and after pushing his phone into his pocket, he smiled at me.

“Got it?” he asked, placing his arm around my shoulder to start walking.

“Important call?”

“Not at all,” he replied, placing a kiss to my temple.

I kept both hands on my cup to keep them warm, and so the jealousy I felt climbing up my belly wouldn’t ruin this day for us, I changed the subject.

“If they keep having so many visitors on the island, maybe we should open our own business,” I suggested.

He chuckled. “And what kind of business are you thinking of?”

“I don’t know, maybe one for fishermen?”

“And what exactly do you know about fishing?” he mocked.

“That it’s fun,” I said with a shrug.

Ezra let out a laugh. “If you come up with a great business idea for after you’ve graduated college, I’ll think about it. Wouldn’t mind living here all year-round.”

“Me neither. Imagine watching the seasons change right in front of your eyes. All the pretty flowers and trees, the snow, the rainy days.”

“All right, we better stop talking about this before I impulsively pack all of our things and move us out here.”

I looked at him with big eyes, and with a grin, I continued to list all the things I loved about the island.
