I woke up this morning feeling like a million bucks even with the twinge in my ass. I’d almost forgotten how it felt to be pounded into oblivion by my mate. With my work schedule, I tend to wake up early so I have time to rehearse my dance routines before going to work at the tattoo parlor. Which is why I’m glad today happens to be my day off. I’ll have to call in at the club and let them know I probably won’t be in tonight but they’ll understand. It’s why I love working for paranormals. They understand mating and needing to spend time with that person. Even on my day off, my internal alarm clock had me up at five am so I showered and got dressed. Then when I went searching for something to cook for breakfast I saw how sparse the kitchen was when it came to food and decided to go shopping.

Ian is still asleep, thank god. I was gone for two hours. He really has nothing to eat. I think I saw a bottle of water and a lone Chinese takeout container in the fridge. After I put all the groceries away, I grab the ingredients for breakfast, put on a pot of coffee, and begin cooking.

Arms encircle my waist, and lips press against my neck. “God that smells so good. What are you cooking?”

“Omelets with a side of bacon. There’s coffee if you want it.”

“God, you’re amazing. I don’t know how I survived three years without you and your cooking and your early morning coffee skills.”

“You survived because you had takeout and the delay brew button on the coffee maker. Without that little button so you could set it up the night before you’d totally be a zombie right now.”

He nods. “You’re right.”

There’s a knock on the door and I look over my shoulder at him. “Go answer that while I finish up.”

Ian kisses my cheek and heads for the front door while I put the finishing touches on breakfast.
