Here, we see the portions of the portion of the anterior commissure that connects the two amygdalas. The arrows show that it has communication in both directions.

Here, we see the moment when the fearful (right) amygdala is running at its maximum, but hasn’t spilled over to the one on the left yet. The negative emotion will be close to its maximum.

Now, the electrical activity is spilling over, stripping away synapses that inhibit communication from the right to the left. Overloaded, they ‘drop out’. The more electrical current involved, the more synapses will be lost.
