Miss McKenzie’s Belch Bag Band had another rehearsal today. Things are sounding really bad. I noticed that Mr Cluff has started bringing earplugs to school in his lunchbox. But, as Mrs Whittington would say, every cloud has a silver lining. Miss McKenzie has started teaching Nick and Gary the Highland fling, and it is funnier than watching the clowns at the circus. Nick dances at a forty-five degree angle, so he always looks like he’s about to fall over, but amazingly he never does. Gary falls over all the time.

Banjo watched for a while then crawled off under the schoolhouse mumbling, ‘The Highland fling, the Highland fling. What a truly wondrous thing.’
