Chapter 3

I woke up early, as I always do to get an early start on the day. I put on some music, so that I could work out. This was my way to warm up and I had seen that there were paths near this place that I could use to work off excess energy. I had on a pair of blue jogging shorts and a halter top that was more like a sports bra than anything else. It was a lighter blue than my shorts, but it complimented the outfit perfectly. I put myself through some calisthenics just to get my heart rate up to where I wanted it to be. I didn’t have the music loud, because I wasn’t sure what kind of sleep patterns that Abigail and Connie had.

I had my hair in a ponytail and I was about to go out and hit the trail, when I turned and found Connie standing there with a cup of coffee in her hand.

“I hope you’re ready, because I’ve talked to Jasper’s personal assistant and they’re willing to give you a chance, as one of the maids. You’re going to have to be there in less than an hour. It’s only part time, but it could lead to full time if you play your cards right.” I wasn’t expecting it to be this quick, but I guess if I was going to make a clean start, then I was going to have to jump in feet first.

“I guess I’ll just take a short jog and then come back here and have breakfast. I shouldn’t be long and I promise that I won’t make you regret this, Connie. By the way, I met Abigail last night and she seems ok. She’s got this free spirit or maybe she just doesn’t give a damn. It’s kind of refreshing and I’m glad that I’m roommates with the both of you.”

She was about to leave, when she put up a finger to indicate that she wanted a second of my time. “By the way, I have no problem with you listening in, but please try to not announce the fact that you are listening. Joe was too caught up in his own pleasure last night to notice, but I wasn’t.” I felt mortified, but she turned and smiled and gave me a wink to indicate that she really didn’t care. Her robe was open and she was completely naked with a sheen of sweat on her skin that probably came from tossing and turning with images of his body in her mind all night long.

I hit the trails and I was moving along at a nice pace, when I slammed into somebody. It was like hitting a brick wall and I stumbled backwards and was about to fall down an embankment, when a hand reached out and snatched me from certain injury. This person pulled me back to my feet, because I was going to lose my balance and go tumbling down onto the rocks below.
