The man who wasn’t there
According to legend and contemporary scholars, Bukhari actually travelled alone to the farthest reaches of the caliphate. We know this because the man never made mention of any companions during his journey. Furthermore, there were no witnesses to his travels. No archives or census records, no account of toll and taxation, nor official written prose by clerics to commemorate such an honourable guest. One must agree with the possibility that Bukhari simply made up his stories, fabricating vast accounts from witnesses that also probably never existed. After all, Bukhari was a highly proficient and intelligent scholar. It’s quite possible that he could have applied his intellect to manufacture the legend of Muhammad, basing him on various historical individuals, tribal leaders etc.
Returning empty handed to Baghdad (the capital) would have cast a shadow on his career, and undoubtedly put his life in jeopardy. Failure was not an option. To inform the high command that all accounts were fictitious, uncorroborated and vague, would have infuriated the zealous echelon. If word of Muhammad’s non-existence had reached the masses, the entire Islamic establishment would have come crashing down. The Islamic caliphates had worked hard to suppress the people, and Bukhari’s mandated work would have served their interests by inventing the Sunnah, which is based on the Hadith, to further oppress Muslims.
As I have already explained, the Sunnah is a rigid set of legalistic ordinances that Muslims are commanded to follow. Perhaps it is for this reason why Bukhari was commissioned - to bolster the lie to further their corruption, entangling the common Muslim in a web of ordinances and supplication. Naturally, this conjecture is not without merit, as one needs to ask themselves how Muslims practiced the Sunnah before the Sahih Bukhari codex was published. Conclusively, the aforementioned facts only prove that Islam has amounted to one lie being built on top of another.
