Blaze

Zoe hovers over me with her hands parked on her waist while chewing gum and popping bubbles every couple of seconds. I know she’s only doing it to annoy me into agreeing to let her take Dante out for ice-cream.

I’m leaning forward in my office chair with my gaze fixed firmly on my laptop screen. This is for two reasons.

One. I refuse to let my son go anywhere if I’m not around to ensure his safety.

Two. I doubt I’d be able to practice much self-control with the way she looks today.

She’s dressed in a red and white checkered mini-skirt and a purple crop top that leaves little to the imagination and has blood rushing straight to my cock.

“Blaze, we both know I’m stubborn,” she says, popping another bubble. “I could stand here all day long. So why don’t you make this easier for everyone and agree to let Dante go for ice-cream? It’s bad enough he’s been told he’s not allowed to play with me, but this is getting ridiculous. You can’t keep a kid locked up inside all day, every day. Besides, you’re working, let me help.”

I adjust my black beanie over my head before I press a hand to my desk and swivel around to finally face her.

My breath hitches for a second as a sudden warmth rushes over my skin. I’m not sure if it’s because of our recent encounter in my bathroom, but the girl seems to have a hold over me lately.

I clear my throat and school my face.

“Zoe,” I start, “While all of that may be true, I’m sure we agree that I’d win in the stubborn department.” I glance at my son, who’s peeping at me from behind Zoe’s leg. “As much as I’d love for Dante to get out a bit, we both know it’s not safe.”

Zoe rolls her eyes and lets out a defeated grunt. “Man, you’re infuriating. Dante can’t stay cooped up. At some point, you’re going to have to let him be a kid.” She takes a step forward. I fix my gaze on her hand, which is now squeezing my shoulder while ignoring the sudden spark of electricity coursing over my skin from her touch.

She pauses to pop another damn bubble and throws me a smug grin. “Besides, I have powers too now, and bless the soul of anyone that tries to harm him.”

A soft tug on my jeans cuts me off before I can respond.

Dante looks at me with large, saddened eyes, his lower lip jutted out for added effect. “Please, Papa. I promise I’ll be good, and we won’t even go for long.” My lips part, but I’m cut off with yet another, “Pleeeeeeease.”

I drop my head and exhale a sigh. How the hell do I say no when my baby’s pleas are laced with so much innocence? Remind me to hide Dante’s Shrek DVD collection. It would seem my kid has been picking up tips from Puss in Boots with that look.

“Fine,” I say finally, raising my hands in defeat.
