Adam yanked his head and smacked his cheek, and after a moment of confusion some measure clarity entered the boy’s expression. He stared wide-eyed at Adam.

“What?” he asked, like he’d just realized that Adam was there.

“David over there is worried about you and ordered Brick to stop fucking you,” Adam explained, lying through his teeth.

Oliver glared at David with an expression of such loathing that David almost had to take a step back.
