Lebanon is a resilient country. It has witnessed countless wars, emergencies and fatalities. Every time it has managed to emerge but this time, locals say, it is far worse than they have ever seen.

Miracles happen but not just by hoping for it. For Lebanon’s revival, individuals will need to create opportunities for themselves online. Waiting for the economy to bounce back and for local jobs to return could be disastrous.

‘Unemployable’ professors like Mahmoud demonstrate that the creator economy opens up new vistas for employment. All one needs is the Internet, grit and commitment to experiment till the portfolio of small bets add up. It takes a while and success isn’t guaranteed, but isn’t that the case for everything we try?

We see Mahmoud’s philosophy adventures transform from being a one-person experiment in a small room in Beirut to a global community of professionals interested in engaging with rich, timeless content.
