Basically, children who have poor emotional intelligence are at a greater risk of misunderstanding other people’s emotions. This means a child can become angry at another person because they have a tendency to attribute hostile emotions to others even when this is simply not the case.
On the other hand, emotionally intelligent children are:
More likely to experience greater academic achievement.
Less likely to become a school bully.
Less likely to develop childhood behavioural disorders such as Oppositional Defiance Disorder or Conduct Disorder.
Much better at problem solving in their emotional life.
