I pitied our faithful following, incarcerated in the decrepit Baseball Ground, three down in a blinding blizzard with 35 minutes of neuralgia still to endure, with the home fans bellowing ‘You’re sh** and you’re going down!’ Marco Gabbiadini then had the utter heartlessness to stick in a fourth just as the referee decided that our fans had had enough. Why can’t football teams be allowed to declare? No, Gang of Four, ‘Please give us unending workdays!’ For once, Lydia and I decided we were better off at home.
