With Emile’s wounded arm immobilized, Pain had the courtesy to open the studio door and let the artist precede him into his workspace. The room was a total disaster and he felt a sudden pang of guilt for the destruction he and Agony had caused. He was able to almost completely ease his mind by remembering that for all intents and purposes, Emile had been ultimately responsible for having brought this destruction about.

Still, he thought as he assessed the damage, that is a fuckload of broken dicks.

“Would you like a tour?” the artist asked.

“I’ll pass.”

“Some of these pieces have quite a history behind them. I could point out a few that would surprise you if I told you who had modeled for them.”

He snorted. “I’m sure you could but I have more pressing matters than knowing whose willies you’ve wrangled.”

“Right. Do you mind if I sit?”

“Whatever makes you comfortable.”

Pain regretted having said that a few minutes later when the man wandered toward the boarded-up windows and sat in one of the larger works that had managed to avoid the destruction. “It’s far more comfortable than it looks.”

He was willing to take Emile’s word for that. The work was all intricately carved wood with a penis that was almost Pain’s height rising to form the back of a chair. The scrotum was flattened to form the seat between two testicles that functioned as armrests.

It took a little work for the detective to clear another large work of art for him to sit on and to adjust to focus on the other man’s face rather than on the tip of the dick that rose behind him.

“You said that with the passwords for the files, Agony will be able to find out exactly who was responsible for her partner’s death. First off, that had better not be a lie.”

“It’s not. God help us all, I wish it was a lie. I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in what seems like forever. After the other night, I pulled a few strings and learned a great deal about the two of you. Between what I was told and some research of my own, I am almost positive that the information about her partner is in there.”

“But you aren’t one hundred percent certain?” He raised an eyebrow.

Emile gave him an accusatory look. “How could I be? I was no longer in possession of the files to be able to look it up. But if I’m right, she will be able to confirm it herself shortly.”

“So tell me. Why come clean now?” he asked bluntly

“I was not lying when I said I have never dealt with pain very well.”

“You can dish it out but not take it.” Pain snorted. “You’re not the first one I’ve heard that from.”

“I also don’t know your policy on torture and would rather not push the matter. All I know is that those you are up against will also target me now and I would prefer to take my chances with you.
