The major three groups and the high number of unique peptides found in these groups should not distract from the detection and identification of the other viruses. Any of these other viruses could become a detection of interest with a change in the source for the honeybee collectors. Newcastle disease virus has an average in the Montana region of over seven unique peptides as well as Western equine encephalitis virus and others.

The following sections will discuss the major virus groups and expand on the relationships between the national average of viruses collected by honeybees and the various regions. It may be important and useful to monitor the viruses collected by honeybees as an indication of a potential source of new emerging concerns.
