7.3 If the Search Is Internet Based (For Example, Medline)

7.3.1 Indexing Bias

This is owing to the internet database’s inadequate indexing of studies. This mistake is more likely to occur when an article is brand new and has only recently been added to the database.

7.3.2 Search Bias

This is due to the database’s inability to get all of the indexed papers. The rate of research discovered by an expert user using internet-based resources ranges from 32% to 80%, and it is much lower for inexperienced users. As a result, it is critical to pay close attention to the search approach. It is always a good idea to have many people run separate searches and then compare their findings.
