Chrissa

A full week of athletic and martial games with athletes and warriors from all over Brookler took place after the funeral of Lord Rotan. As usual, the Northerners won the hand to hand combat and jousting matches. They won melee too. They didn't do as well in the races, coming in third behind athletes from Namato and the Free Cities. The winner of the games with the most wins turned out to be The Free Cities, with the North close behind. There was a small controversy over New Merkan athletes competing as Free City athletes. It looked as if like that gave the Free Cities the edge over all other districts.

After the funeral and the games, all were eager to get back to the capital. It was a long seven days on the road with rain nearly every day until they finally reached Dragon's Den. The sky was a soft light blue mixed with a darker blue behind the few puffy white clouds left in the sky. To the east though, still moving away from the city, the storm they went through to get to the capital made the land under it look dark and gloomy.

Chrissa and Robbert with the servants moved all of their clothes and items up to their chambers. Finally in their chambers after what seemed to be the longest trek ever from Ragin City to the capital, Robbert looked exhausted. Chrissa knew she looked just as bad but did not want to look in her mirror.

Within a brief moment of silence Chrissa held Robbert as she nuzzled her head in his neck. “Now that we're back in the capital, I have to say that this has to have been the worst start of a year since the war.” she said, softly. Robbert kissed her and held her tightly to him.
