“What was that, Yui? The king of wind fairies?”

“Huh?”

Schnell was staring at me blankly. I cocked my head at him, puzzled that he hadn’t figured it out.

“Ah… Did you think…fairies were only female?”

I extended my arm. Purple Prince jumped out of my shadow and sat cross-legged in my palm. Schnell squinted, scrutinizing him. Then he looked closely at his fairy beside him.

“My fairy……is a guy.”

“Well, that explains it. Your fairy’s not only high-level, he’s a fairy king,” Argit said, sipping tea.

We were sitting at a table, Argit next to me.

“But you noticed it right away, Lady Yui,” Endelia added with admiration.

“With practice…seamstresses can recognize…slight differences in body shape.”

“Oh, of course! Lady Yui can make perfectly fitting garments without taking measurements, just by looking at someone. Recognizing a male body shape must be a trivial matter for her.”

If seamstresses had various artisan skill levels, like in a game, maybe I had a skill that enabled me to do that. Although I had an eye for male and female body shapes even in my past life. My friends, and their friends too, used to ask me to make them costumes. Some of them were boys whose beauty would outshine most women, while others were girls who could easily pass for stunningly handsome guys.

Schnell, sitting across from us, was slumped over the table.

“For seven years… Seven whole years, I didn’t notice…”

He was an artisan seamster himself, so it was a big shock which no doubt hurt his pride, but I didn’t want to dwell on that. I was burning with curiosity about the contents of Schnell’s bag, and the weapons at his belt.

“I’m mystified by the fact that both Schnell’s wind fairy king and the newly born sea fairy king are so large, while Yui’s dark fairy king is tiny. Why could this be?”

I was so transfixed by Schnell’s belongings that I almost didn’t register Argit was talking to me.

“Yui…?”

Argit touched my cheek with the back of his hand, concerned by my absent-mindedness. I finally looked up at him.

“Mr. Schnell…I’ve wondering about…your weapons, and the bag you’ve brought.”

“Ah, that’s right. Schnell brought that shirt to show you.”

“I almost forgot. Sure, take a look.”

The sight was so chilling, I got goose bumps all over.

“Eek…”

I instantly recognized that a curse had been woven into the garment with that putrid black and red thread. Fortunately, whoever made it was pathetically bad at sewing, so they stitched the front of the shirt to the back, making it impossible to put on.

Without waiting for a signal from me, Purple Prince drew his rapier and cut the cursed thread as though with a seam ripper.

“Oh…”

“Huh?”

The shirt came apart—unlike that awful garment of Argit’s that Purple Prince had helped me cut, Schnell’s shirt lost all semblance of a garment, turning into a pile of loose threads. Shiny particles of lucky blessing rose from it and disappeared into thin air.

“That… That could’ve ended badly!”

Having seen Aria’s pink ribbon, I understood what had happened with the garment.

“It was almost…a perfect amulet. The
