Coming out of my haze, all I wonder is what my angel is doing. My chin’s against my chest, and I don’t quite have the strength to lift it right now. I must be in my chair, half-drunk from another binge.

Letting out a soft groan, I slowly open my eyes. When they’re fully open, I close them tight then open them again. Why can’t I see anything? Everything is black.

I go to rub my eyes, but I can’t. I can’t move.

My arms and legs won’t fucking move!

Every time I try, my head feels like it’s going to explode. I sit here for a few more minutes, hoping I’ll wake up from this nightmare.

Eventually, I start to feel less groggy, though my head’s still pounding. I realize my arms won’t move because they’re tied together behind my back. I twist my hands around until I feel something cold, like metal. Okay, I’m definitely not at home in my recliner.

I need to get out of here, but I don’t even know where here is.

Where the hell am I?

There’s something about waking up and not recognizing your surroundings that causes so much confusion. Especially when it’s pitch black. You question everything. Like, am I in Hell? Probably. Will I make it out alive? If I have something to say about it, I will. Is the person I love most in this world safe? She better be.

I think back, trying to remember what happened today.

Today? Can I even say today? I don’t know how long I’ve been out, so I don’t know what fucking day it is.

I was at the library with Lainey, tasting that pretty pink pussy. She was squirming and moaning underneath my touch until she came all over my fingers.

What happened after that?

I can’t finish my thoughts because a door to my right slams open, bouncing against the wall, the loud sound making my head throb more. The light seeping through the doorway causes me to clench my eyes shut before I can see who’s entering.

Damn it!

A sadistic chuckle echoes through the room. “Well, well, well. Look who’s awake.”

I recognize the deep gravel in this voice. It’s one I never wanted to hear again.

“Ready to have some fun?” Zep taunts, as I hear the flip of a light switch, but I keep my eyes closed.

Hearing that asshole’s voice brings all the memories back. I remember everything now. Lya caught us in the library and threatened to take Lainey away forever. Lainey asked me to trust her, which I did, but immediately regretted. Thiago forced my hand in making me go with him voluntarily... then that asshole lied and knocked me out.

And now I’m here, locked away somewhere.

Away from Lainey.

A stinging pain across my cheeks and mouth causes me to yell out. My eyes abruptly open enough to see Zep holding a piece of duct tape. My mouth was taped and I hadn’t even noticed, that’s how out of it I am.

The asshole looks like he’s ready to go into a fighting ring, with just his fucking shorts and no shirt on.
