The Albanians, now all gathered at the warehouse, quietened down as their boss prepared to brief them.

‘We have an address from the boy. Whoever these people are may know where my Guran is and what happened to our money and our people. When we go there later, I want you to show no mercy. None,’ Leandra Qupi told her men.

The dozen heavies standing in front of her were all imposing and deadly, specially chosen for this trip. They nodded and murmured in approval.

We have less than a week to get back what is rightfully ours. I anticipated more from Brodie Dabbs, but he fears us. Now we shall show him and his allies why. As long as we stay away from the police, we shall succeed with our mission and be on the plane home in a few days.’

‘I will go alone to check this place the boy told us about, nobody will be bothered about one man on his own,’ Mateo said. ‘The rest of you, wait here and prepare for later.’

‘What about the boy?’ Esad said, nodding towards Greg. ‘Do you want me to get rid of him?’

‘Not yet. The fewer of us people see outside, the better. We stay here until we are done, then you can do what you like with him.’

Esad grinned in anticipation. The boy had proven stubborn and obstructive for too long. His lesson was far from over and would be a very harsh one.

‘Okay, go and prepare your equipment and then get some rest. We will leave at four to get there before they close,’ Mateo told the men.

The Albanians dispersed to do as he had asked. Mateo approached his boss.

‘I will leave now, and will call if there are any concerns,’ he said.

‘Very well. Remember, Mateo, quiet as a mouse,’ she said, teasingly stroking his face again.

Mateo could see his brother trying not to laugh and nodded sombrely.

‘Nobody shall see me, cousin,’ he replied confidently.
