CHAPTER TEN

Mila reached over and picked up her phone to check the time. The sun was high in the sky so she knew she’d slept later than she planned. When she saw 11:15 in the right-hand corner of her phone screen, she jumped up. She pulled her robe out of her bag and slipped it on before tip-toeing out of the room to the bathroom.

The door to Noah’s room was wide open. Mila rushed into the bathroom. She didn’t want to chance bumping into him before she brushed her teeth and cleaned herself up a bit. She didn’t allow any man, not even a practical stranger, to see her looking a hot mess. Even when she lived with Isaac, she made sure to get up before him and make herself presentable before he woke. She was insecure that way. No one is allowed to see ugly Mila…ever.

In the bathroom, Mila brushed her teeth, washed her face, and brushed her hair before going in search of a clean washcloth and towel.

“Excuse me, Noah,” she called out. “Can I have a washcloth, please?”

Mila paused waiting for a response. Hearing nothing, she moved closer to the room. “Noah?”

Still nothing. Curious, Mila went to the doorway. The bed was neatly made up with an Eagles sheet set and matching comforter. Men and their love of sports, she chuckled.

Mila turned away from the room and went down the hall to the old linen closet. She picked a white washcloth and pink floral towel from the shelf. Feeling more comfortable now that she knew the house was empty, Mila stripped out of her clothing. Wrapped in the towel, she padded down the hall towards the bathroom.

“Oh shit,” she cried out when she encountered Noah coming up the steps.

Noah flushed with embarrassment as Mila’s towel suddenly fell away. He stared at her exposed body in appreciation, before quickly turning away and fleeing down the steps. “I’m sorry,” she heard him say.

Mila grabbed the towel and ran to the bathroom. She stood beneath the pulsating water trying to wash away the embarrassment. Normally, Mila loved showing her body off. Seducing men was like her favorite past time. Even she was surprised at her sudden modesty. It wasn’t like she didn’t need a good screwing at the moment. Lord knows, Kareem had no intention of giving her any. But, after getting off on the wrong foot with Noah before he was so gracious to her, Mila decided to restrain herself.

She thought about the lustful look on Noah’s face. Mila’s washrag suddenly lay on the floor of the tub, while her soap-covered hands picked up the rhythm her hips were rocking to. The fingers on her left hand circled her swelling clit until the building pressure alerted her to her impending orgasm. She slipped three fingers inside her clenching walls as her right-hand pulled on her hardened nipples. Mila knew the sweet release would only provide temporary relief, but at the moment, anything was better than nothing.
