Both the pattern of suppressing emotions and that of expressing emotions without understanding their nature create great confusion in children. Children in the modern world need education that helps them to understand their sexuality and the changes they are experiencing. They should also be taught what is injurious and what is not. In order to help young people, adults should be aware that children are exposed to certain values through the media and through television programs, and they should examine and scrutinize the media and television programs their children watch. Children are constantly bombarded by these stimuli and they are unable to cope adequately with this agitation and arousal. Constant, friendly guidance is essential for children, especially during puberty. Children should be taught to sublimate and channel their desires through socially accepted substitutes so that they don't experience the many deep frustrations that seem to be personal in the beginning but later become related to others.
