I have known Ansley since she was a toddler. I remember her when she was just a little girl—a cancer patient walking through the hospital in diapers! Years later, the first time I saw her at summer camp, it was such a joy to see her there as a first-time camper!

I remember Ansley always being there and being part of my life. I always wanted to be there for her too. She was often one of my campers at teen retreat, a weekend program during the year to help keep the kids “connected.”

Ansley is surrounded by a loving family. Family is a huge part of her life. But she has always made room for others in her life, and I am thrilled to be a part of that. To this day, we stay in touch. We have an unbreakable thread between us, and whenever we talk or text or see each other, we pick up wherever we happened to have left off. I went to several of her birthday parties, her Sweet Sixteen, and her graduation party. We wrote letters when she was off at school. I cannot imagine my life without her or Camp Sunshine.
