Practice framing your answers to these questions in terms of how your particular, individual skills will further the company’s goals. Even if you haven’t had the experiences, you can see what they really want to find out about you. We’ll examine the first few questions to help you get the hang of it.
● This first question is asking how you handle stress and conflict. Every job comes with its share of unpleasantness, and the interviewer needs to know you’ll be able to deal with that without it getting you down or making you resentful. Talk about difficult situations and how you kept a good attitude through them.
● This question might seem to be trying to identify a risk-taker, but if you dig a little deeper you can see that the real question is about planning, Whenever a leap needs to be taken, the steps before and after are just as important as the risk itself. Show your interviewer that you understand this by an example of laying the groundwork for a planned, thought-out leap.
● This question is not just an opportunity to brag. It’s a way for the interviewer to find out what your strengths are without asking you outright. People tend to find the most satisfaction in tasks they are good at, so this is a chance for them to discover what your real strengths are, not just what you think they are.
