Monday came around quickly and I wasn’t mentally and physically prepared to go into work. After the weekend I had with Caine aka The Miracle Worker, all I wanted to do was finish moving furniture around and setting up the apartment. The only rooms that were together was Angel’s, the living room and the kitchen. Her room was decked out in Minnie Mouse everything while the bathroom and kitchen was lit up with gold white and maroon decor.

My bedroom still had a bunch of stuff everywhere as did the living room and dining area. Caine stayed over until practically midnight helping me get everything together. When he left, a piece of me missed him and couldn’t wait until the next time he stopped by. I was truly grateful for everything he’d done for us.

Playing Christmas jams from Pandora on my new iPhone, I danced around the crib getting Angel and I ready for the day. Although it was cold as hell outside, the sun was shining, and I felt like nothing could bring down my mood today. Nothing… except getting to Angel’s daycare only to see they were closed due to an unexpected emergency. I couldn’t believe this.

“Shit!” I cursed with her on my hip.

“Ooooh!” She sang and covered her mouth as usual.

“Ugh, sorry baby.” I muttered and sighed. “I guess no school today.”

“Aww boo! Mommy I read books.” Angel pouted and reached for the door handle.

“Sorry baby.” I said, walking back to the car. I buckled her back in the car seat and tried not to flip out because I had to be to work in an hour. How the hell was I making coffees, teas, sandwiches, and shit with a toddler on my hip? I could hear Abel’s voice now. “One more tardy or call out and you’re fired, Miracle!”

With my manager’s words in the back of my head, I felt stuck and didn’t know what to do. Just then, I thought of Gloria and wondered if she wouldn’t mind watching Angel for the day. Calling up Caine, I could tell that I’d woken him up by the sound is his voice. He already had a raspy one but the sleep dripping from his tone had my pussy ready to drip.

“Yeah, what’s good? You aight? Lil’ mama good?” He questioned.

“We’re fine. I’m sorry to wake you up but I have a dilemma. I feel bad for even asking because you and your folks have been so nice to us. And-”

“Miracle, Miracle.” Caine cut me off with a few sleepy grunts. “What’s the word? What you need, ma?”

Exhaling a deep breath, I glanced in the rearview at Angel who was still looking back at her daycare. “I need a babysitter. I just got to Angel’s daycare, and it’s closed for an emergency. I gotta be to work at 9.” Biting my bottom lip, I waited for his response, and I thought his ass fell back asleep from the silence. “Caine?”

“Yeah, my fault. I was texting my mom’s. She said it’s cool to drop lil’ mama off.
