UNITY AND HARMONY. An object that has unity has “oneness,” or completeness. Nothing can be taken away and nothing needs to be added. This is brought about through harmony, or a pleasing relation to all of the parts. When making or buying a dress, consider the entire garment to determine if all the parts go together.

Harmony in shape. The parts of the one blouse are unrelated in shape. In the other, the scallops, round buttons, and belt buckle harmonize in shape.

CARE AND STORAGE

The length of time a garment may be worn can be increased by proper care. Good care of clothing requires that some thought and energy shall be used every day, but since a well-cared-for garment wears longer and always looks better, the effort is worthwhile.
