Christmas break comes and goes too quickly. Nonno took mom and I on one of his business trips to Italy. We got to go shopping and do a ton of traditional touristy things. Between the architecture and the museums and phenomenal scenery, my whole life felt like it finally made sense. Like, I somehow fought my way from the bottom and lived a dirty, difficult life just so that I could appreciate those moments that much more. I wasn’t just there viewing these things as another rich kid that maybe wouldn’t appreciate the culture and the creativity and craftsmanship that went into designing these stunning buildings and art forms. I saw them and felt otherworldly. Everything we encountered was breathtaking and I am so thankful to have experienced it. I also got to spend a lot of time with nonno covering a lot of bases throughout the different companies he owns. Surprisingly, there are a lot more of them on the up and up than I would’ve expected. I think he was trying to shield me to an extent from some of the gritty and more sordid sides of things, but I walked into every meeting with my head held high and ready for the worst. There were definitely a few times that felt like I was being tested but Nonno was patient with me and every time I made the right call he beamed with pride and my confidence was boosted that much more. Our last meeting included the guys and up until that point, I had thought I’d done a decent job of staying connected to them via Facetime and text. Let’s just say that my inbox is full of enough dirty messages that I feel like I could write a whole book on sexting. But seeing them in person, dressed to kill in perfectly fitted suits was enough to take my breath from me and I realized how much I actually missed them. We talked about how to proceed with the DeLuca situation and Matteo confirmed that he’d been keeping a close eye on his father's business and conversations but has yet to find any of the contracts we need to dispose of. Apparently, he and Cohen have a healthy reputation as computer hackers, maybe even better than SB so they’ll be doing some digital investigating as well. As it turns out, the guys have quietly been my grandfather's soldiers for quite some time. They are being groomed by their own families to take over as Underbosses for the territories branching out beyond nonno’s reach. The current attempt at renegotiation of the contracts essentially states, per my approval, I will be wed to all three of the guys to combine all of the territories together. Legally, of course I could only be married to one of them but there are contractual stipulations stating that upon the point of an official ceremony to symbolically marry all of them, contractually all of the land and businesses are
