Getting to my parentsâ house, Mel said she would meet me here before we go out for the night. I rang her earlier saying I needed a night out. I told her about the reunion and how Coleâs been with me all day. That man has been making comments all day in Italian, he knows that it was affecting me, how could it not. He sounded so fucking sexy. I was just lucky that Tara kept me busy all day and I didnât have to be left alone with him because I donât think I could have stayed away from him.
âDad.â I call out, not seeing anyone in the sitting room.
âKitchen.â
Dropping my bag on the bottom step of the stairs, I make my way over and hear Mel; she is already here.
I asked Tara for two days off before I left; not full days. I will still keep up with emails and phones calls and things, but wanted them so I could get settled in the apartment and unpack. I was so happy she said yes. It gives me a chance to take a step back from Cole and figure out what the fuck Iâm doing.
âBefore you say anything, I think you should go, and show them all how sexy and amazing your life is.â Mel tells me as I take the wine from her and drink it all. Handing her the empty glass back, I walk over to my dads and give them both a kiss on the cheek.
âHello to you too. How was your day? My day was crap, busy, and high school is the last thing I want to talk about,â I tell her.
I sit down at the dining table, and take the wine from my dad, and just watch the three of them staring at me.
âNothing to say, Cole isâ¦â I break off not knowing what to say. âDifferent, but you know what, sleeping with him was a mistake, and I donât plan on making it again.â
âWhat?â My pops shouts. I don't look at him. I know how much he hated them all after what happened, and I donât think heâs in a hurry to forgive anyone.
âPops, he isnât the same person he was in high school, I think we should drop the subject.â I take a sip of my wine and walk over to my bag as I hear my phone beep. This is not the evening I had planned, I didnât want to argue with my dads. Iâm so confused about Cole I donât have answers for them or myself, and itâs getting to me now.
Looking at the emails, I throw my phone back into my bag, and make my way back to the dining room; but stop when I see my dad leaning against the stair railing.
âTalk to me.â
âI donât know what to say ââ I stop when he puts his hand up and gives me that look which I know very well. Itâs the look that says, you can get your pops to fall for everything you say, but it wonât work with me.
