Greetings!“ Mordred called to all the assembled parents and students from the castle steps.

“I can’t believe Uncle Mordred didn’t invite my mom on purpose,” Angus muttered. “He and Auntie Lobelia can’t stand her, but still. She is my mom.”

Wiglaf threw an arm around his friend’s shoulder. “At least now you don’t have to worry about her seeing you play the princess.”

“Quiet, please!” called Mordred. “One of our students has written a welcome cheer. Eric?”

Erica stepped forward holding two flags emblazoned with the DSA crest. Why was she scowling? Wiglaf wondered. She began cheering in a dull voice and waving the flags as if she barely had the strength to hold them.

“Welcome daddies, mommies, too!

DSA is counting on you!

Counting on you to do what you’re told,

Counting on you to give us your gold!

Give us your loot and give us your stash,

Give us your treasure chests full of cash!

Give us your silver! Your pennies, too.

(We don’t take checks or IOUs.)

So if your son likes DSA,

It’s time for you to pay, pay, pay!”
