The 1907 catalog is of special interest to the Heddon collector, as it introduces some of the most famous and also most collectible of Heddon’s baits. I still recall the thrill I had when I opened up a tackle box to find a near-mint Heddon’s “Artistic” Minnow, No. 50 Series in Fancy Sienna-Yellow finish in the top tray! Also, the 1907 catalog details the now famous Minnows numbered in the 100s and 150s. These are the sought-after three-hook and five-hook minnows that often command premium prices when they are found in fine condition or rare colors. The catalog also details the heavier duty 177 and the 300 surface bait, as well as our old friend the “Expert,” now assigned the No. 200. Additionally, the 1907 catalog portrayed the proper way to cast, and discussed the value of the sport.
