To raise your energy, you may need to review your disdain, to look and see and observe yourself being ridiculous. Your soul will cry in its great relief if you ever really look properly. Spirituality is the act of becoming ever more normal, real, and genuine; often in posing and pretending, we get carried away to perdition.

When I watch people in the street, say, disdain is the most obvious to see—it’s on their lip. We say it is a cruel lip, thin and curled downward sometimes. Hate is in people’s eyes as a slimy patina; arrogance is under their nose between it and the upper lip, and in people’s puffed-up chests. The desire for sex is in the surreptitious rocking of their hips or how women rub their thighs unconsciously. Violence is sometimes in the fist, and it’s always in the corner of the eye—as an untreated insanity.

People who suffer from overthinking, a narcissistic obsession with self, talk a lot … and they go gray, their etheric looks cloudy, their pallor changes, and they get sick as their mind disconnects from grace while insisting on self. The way it falls in love with itself and its endless churning eventually irritates them into hypochondria, which is a disease of self-importance.
