âDid the Ghangosaur say anything about my daughter?â asked his host very eagerly.
âYes,â replied Manik.
The hole in the ground was found and the hair was taken out. The girl had been lying in bed for the last two years. She got up and started walking about the house, completely cured! Everyone in the family was overjoyed. They gave so much money to Manik that he needed ten camels to carry it all home.
There was similar rejoicing at the house of the man who had lost his keys. He, too, rewarded Manik generously.
Manik took all the money, returned home and presented the feathers to the king. People praised Manik to the skies. They all felt that the king had tested Manik enough and that the wedding should take place immediately. The king had no way out this time. Reluctantly, he agreed to let the two of them get married.
The wedding took place with great pomp and pageantry. Manik had brought so much money that he and the princess could live comfortably all their lives.
The king was the only person who was not happy. âIf there is so much money in the land of the Ghangosaur, I must go there and get some for myself,â he thought to himself.
After the wedding, the king set off to go to the land of the Ghangosaur. But he never managed to reach his palace. That is because the old man put him down in the middle of the river!
At first, the king was surprised; then he was angry. After that, he started calling the old man names. Soon he was begging him to come back.
But the old man had no time to listen to him. He crossed the river and ran as fast as his legs could carry him. In his hurry, he forgot to tell the king how the king could also escape. That is why the king is there even today carrying people on his back!
If any of you visit the land of the Ghangosaur, please tell the king the secret he doesnât know. But a word of caution: Tell him the secret after he has brought you back to this side of the river. Otherwise, things may turn out to be a little difficult.
