The key to success with these sites is to know what parameters to enter in order to narrow your search. If you simply search for “accounting,” the site will pull all the job listings that mention the word “accounting.” These may include positions at all levels, including upper-level management, or jobs that are in entirely different fields but happen to mention accounting in the job description.

One way to help narrow your searches is to find out what job titles are used for the types of positions in which you’re interested and for which you’re qualified. Entry-level positions often have the word “assistant” in their job titles, so adding that to a search might help narrow the results to positions that you’ll be qualified for. Or the website may allow you to limit your search to jobs that are considered entry level.
