Stephan Zelewski

is Professor of Management, especially Production and Industrial Information Management. He teaches business management with a focus on production management at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He is director of the Institute of Production and Industrial Information Management of the Faculty of Economics, Campus Essen. He is also a member of the Institute of Business and Economic Studies (IBES), the Institute for Computer Science and Business Information Systems (ICB), as well as the Centre for Logistics and Traffic (ZLV). He holds a university degree in business administration as well as a university degree in economics and a Ph.D. from the University of Cologne. From 1993 to 1998 he was Professor of Production Management and Industrial Information Management at the University of Leipzig. Since 1998 he has been Professor of Management, especially Production and Industrial Information Management, at the University of Duisburg-Essen (Campus Essen). Current research interests include production management, especially logistics and supply chain management, operations research, business-oriented applications of artificial intelligence research, especially knowledge based systems, ontologies and case-based reasoning systems, game theory, production theory, as well as the philosophy of science.
