Wenn man seinen Traumjob nicht in der Zeitung findet, hilft nur noch eins: Eigeninitiative – und sich unaufgefordert bei Wunschfirmen bewerben.

Beispiel

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing to inquire about the possibility of obtaining a position as an intern in your secretarial pool. I will finish my vocational training (bilingual secretary) in November 2003.

Part of my training is an unpaid three-week internship within an organization. Your company’s reputation and profile correspond to my idea of a future employer.

I am attaching my CV, qualifications, and a photo (.jpg-file) for your review.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Formulierungshilfen

Zurzeit bin ich Student der Kernphysik in Nürnberg. Ich werde in zwei Monaten, am 1. Mai 2003, mein Studium beenden.

Ich möchte mich um eine Stelle in Ihrer Abteilung für Software-Entwicklung bewerben.

Zurzeit bin ich als Verkäuferin tätig.

Tipps

„Inc.“ steht für „Incorporated“ (eingetragen), „Ltd.“ für „Limited“ (GmbH), „PLC.“ für „Public Limited Company“ (Mischform zwischen AG/GmbH in Großbritannien).

Bei einer unaufgeforderten Bewerbung ist die Betreffzeile besonders wichtig.

Das Wort „apply“ behält das „y“ im Stamm in der -ing-Form bei.
