The best advice I can give you is to spend a lot of time creating a process for your sales and engagement services. Remember, you must follow the blueprints for sales and talent processes—beginning with the initial quote, to the order, into the delivery—from beginning to end. And then repeat, because you are never done. There should always be something to ask your customers about, to discuss, to help and assist them with.

Remember to ask open-ended questions like “Did you know that . . . ?” “What happens when . . . ?” “What is the reasoning behind . . . ?” There is always more for a customer to learn about your firm. Look for areas where you can bring value to your customers by offering any and all services you have available to help them solve a problem, grow their firm, or add talent to their organization. Your service and support efforts to your customers should never wane.
