Now that she’d accomplished what she’d set out to do, Cat wasn’t quite sure how to proceed. She found herself once again wishing she had Han with her. Her dog would have found her missing friends and stood guard until Cat could get there. She wanted to run to them but knew they would have to wait. She couldn’t risk rescuing them until the prisoners’ freedom was assured. She dismounted the horse and led him to the garage, not sure how he’d react to this arrangement but unwilling to let him become cat chow.

“Clever,” Galloway complimented upon her arrival. Cat nodded in acknowledgment before turning to business.

“Go to the prison yard,” she ordered. “Most of the prisoners are being held there. I’m going to search the passageways below the house. I know there’s something, or someone, down there.”

“I’m going with you,” Galloway told her.

“No, you’re going with my brother.” The tone of her voice left little room for dispute, and then she was gone.
